Carlyn Beccia, what a wonderful morsel of your soul you have so generously given us. Your use of metaphor and imagery is crisp and illuminating, and how you have so candidly taken possession/ownership of your pain is testament to the truth that, in healing, no murky corners should remain unexamined. My heart goes out to you (not in the manner of pity, but of admiration). There are far too many women in this world who suffer at the hands of narcissistic, sociopathic “little boys” with mommy issues, it makes my soul writhe. And in the naming of them, as with J. Edgar, they become weakened and lose their clutch over the women they tried to control. Peace, my darling (I’m gay, so this is totally non-innuendo-ey and wholly innocent), strength. Will read more of your work!
