The Portuguese village of Cacela Velha is indeed a magical, seemingly inexhaustible source of goodness, and the fact it still stands, unchanged, untouched, after all these decades (and has been around since the 11th century) is itself a loving testament to the timelessness of memory. That I could effectively render tiny fragments of experience into words that moved you; well, that is yet greater proof of its galvanising magic! :)))))
