Dear Carlyn,

I now know I would LOVE to sit at a table with you and talk until the early hours of dawn, I can sense there would be great ideas in the air :)

Institutional religion is, for the greater part grim & evil, pretty much devoid of all-inclusive empathy or compassion, and is driven by limp-dicked pedophile bishops in the Christian faith, who still believe Eve, that pesky “rib,” was responsible for having brought on the world’s downfall. And, likewise, don’t even get ME started on homophobia! Lol.

People need to learn to read the canon of religious texts with the same eye they read Greek mythology with; as just that — myths and archetypes, with very little truth in them, having been corrupted and decontextualized, mostly by men, over the years.

Personal degrees of faith and spirituality, however, can be empowering if constructed individually, piecemeal, to meet each individual’s needs and worldview.

Would love to chat some more, whenever possible. You can find me on Twitter as pedroBgorman, IG and FB as Pedro B. Gorman :) Feel free, or not, any which one is fine

As a writer, I am just beginning to crack the importance of Twitter in platform and community-building. I confess until now because of all the cancel-culture scandals, it kind of seemed to me an online, gun-slinging Texas-esque, NRA-type place. But then I remembered one mustn’t generalize, and have so far had pleasant experiences on it.

I noticed in your Medium header you have a couple of books out. Curious, now. Will check out yr website.

Speak soon, my new friend :)

Yours,

P.
