Thank you so much, John. I am so thrilled it resonated! Being a musician as well as a writer, music is just as much my life-blood, and to allow one’s spirit to be rendered ecstatic by what I like to call The Universal Song we all draw from is a form of transcendence.

If you enjoyed this article, you might enjoy this other one, and also the album in question: this album is to be listened to alone, fully present. It is a work of art which deepens and expands perceptions of Faith, Mythology, Existentialism and Love. As soon as I finish writing my article for today I will delve deep into your other material! :-)

Also, if you do not yet know Nick Cave’s work, after this, I recommend his trilogy of albums (intended as one body of work) in chronological order: 1) Push the Sky Away, 2) Skeleton Tree and 3) Ghosteen. Let me know what you think of them when you’ve heard them, I’m curious. The man is a poet of the magnitude of Leonard Cohen. I’m not joking. They teach courses on Cave in Universities!

He is also an author, and has written three books: “And the Ass Saw the Angel,” “The Death of Bunny Munro” (if you get this one, get the iBooks Audiobook, it comes with sonic textures and sounds, and Cave is an expert narrator). He also published an aesthetically beautiful hardcover poetry edition called “The Sick Bag Song.”

Here is a stunning biopic he directed himself:

Can you tell I’m slightly obsessed with the man? Hahahaha.

Happy reading/listening/viewing!
