You have no idea (then again, I imagine you might) how much this song meant to me as a closeted teen back in 1992, when I first stumbled across «Ziggy» the album.

I actually wept rivers of tears the first time I really sat down for a private listen in my room (perhaps the weeping may have been occasioned by some beer and spliff, LOL), but at the time, I swore that Bowie was singing directly to me; that somehow, this kind, incredibly talented man made me feel seen for the first time ever (even though I was not a cross dresser, or into makeup) was nothing short of portentous for my fluttering teen heart.

It was thanks to songs such as «Lady Stardust,» the poetry and writing of Ginsberg and Burroughs that I began to feel some degree of normalcy in my mind & soul.

Songs and artists such as Bowie are the greater proof, to any naysayers who dare say that art is largely an ornamental thing, and thus unnecessary in society (as too many governing bodies do, unless it financially benefits them) that they are totally full of crap in their lack of vision and sensitivity.

Your writing has gone and done it again, Terry, you’ve tugged at these here heartstrings! :)))))

I thank thee muchly!

Yours,

P.
